S. Mark Powell Investment Fraud – Atlantic Trust Wealth Management

The Securities Law Firm of Menzer & Hill, P.A. is investigating S. Mark Powell (“Powell”) the former Managing Partner of Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management (“Atlantic Trust”) (an Invesco LTD unit), out of Austin, Texas.  Powell was informing investors he could get them a guaranteed 9% return on their investment(s).  Under FINRA rules and regulations, Atlantic Trust had a duty to supervise Powell’s activities during the relevant time period. The aforementioned notwithstanding, Powell was found dead on May 16th, 2013.  Furthermore, Invesco recently announced plans to sell Atlantic Trust to CIBC for over $200 million.  Additionally, Invesco acknowledged they learned of unusual transactions made by Powell.  Many of the investors are believed to be residents of the state of Texas.
