Centara – EquityKey Fund

The Securities Law Firm of Menzer & Hill, P.A. is investigating Centara Capital Securities, Inc. (“Centara”) related to the EquityKey S&P/Case-Shiller Enhanced Growth Fund or EquityKey Fund.  FINRA fined Centara $20,000, for misleading and exaggerated claims related to the EquityKey Fund.  The EquityKey Fund invests in extremely complex real estate related options.  According to FINRA, Centara distributed three EquityKey marketing pieces that violated securities laws.  FINRA accused Centara of misrepresentation involving a PowerPoint Presentation, Fund Snapshot and Fund Summary Update. FINRA also accused Centara of making false, exaggerated and misleading statements or claims, failing to make communications that should be based on good faith to provide a sound basis for evaluating the facts associated with the EquityKey Fund.  The FINRA complaint, also alleges Centara failed to properly disclose the risks associated with the fund, while predicting the fund’s performance when there was no sound basis to do so.
